Drug Screening

Maybe you are just curious. Or maybe you realize some things are not right in your life, with your behavior, with your relationships, or your employment situation. Below, we are providing a questionnaire and a few tools you can use to find out more about your situation. Maybe it is time to seek assistance - it's your call!

The following questions refer to the past 12 months:

  1. Have you used drugs other than those required for medical reasons?
  2. Do you abuse more than one drug at a time?
  3. Are you unable to stop using drugs when you want to?
  4. Have you ever had blackouts or flashbacks as a result of drug use?
  5. Do you ever feel bad or guilty about your drug use?
  6. Does your spouse (or parents) ever complain about your involvement with drugs?
  7. Have you neglected friends and family because of your use of drugs?
  8. Have you engaged in illegal activities in order to obtain drugs?
  9. Have you ever experienced withdrawal symptoms (irritability, cravings, anger, feeling sick, etc.) when you stopped taking drugs?
  10. Have you had medical problems as a result of your drug use (i.e. memory loss, hepatitis, convulsions, seizures, bleeding, etc.)?

To score, count the yes answers. If you answered 6 or more questions with yes, give us a call at (619) 236-9217, HOM Administrative and Intake Office.

Consider these questions as well:

  1. Do you use drugs and/or alcohol as a means of dealing with everyday issues?
  2. Have you isolated yourself from clean and sober people and environments?
  3. Do you want to "break the cycle" and don't know how?
  4. Do you want to change your life and live drug-free in society?
